Nice, to have you coming back

Both various diseases and congenital malformations or accidents cause an asymmetry of the body. This often means a great deal of suffering for the patient. If your body is not harmonious, at corrigé, we help you improve your quality of life.

Face – The mirror of the soul

Corrigé Lucerne specialises not only in aesthetic but also in reconstructive facial surgery.

Some of the most common procedures concern skin cancer. We work together with various dermatologists. We perform both tissue removal and reconstruction. A variety of techniques are used to achieve discrete scars without deformation. Of course, all tissue samples are examined histologically, at delicate points even during surgery.

In this congenital disease, also called Recklinghausen's disease, there are very different manifestations. Only discreet café-au-lait spots can occur, but in rare cases also larger tissue masses with massive disfigurements due to hanging skin and tissue masses can occur. We perform modelling tissue removal on the face and body.

In the case of disturbing or enlarged scars and, in rare cases, keloids after accidents or previous operations, a correction can be made. Various techniques are used.

Thanks to many years of experience in reconstructive facial surgery after ENT, cancer and major facial defects after Noma disease, we can advise and treat you competently.

We would be happy to advise you in detail in a personal conversation.

Breast – The symbol of sensuality

If diseases such as breast cancer change the shape of the breast or cause breast loss, plastic surgery offers different techniques to restore the breast. The loss of her own breast usually represents a strong psychological burden for the affected women. Often the feeling for her own femininity suffers from the change. The treatment requires a lot of empathy and sensitivity. In addition to a disease, malformations of the breast can also be congenital. The core team at the certified St. Anna Breast Center work together as qualified multidisciplinary specialists, delivering you the best possible treatment.

When the silicone implant is placed either above or below the pectoral muscle. The procedure takes about two hours and is performed under general anaesthesia. The implant is embedded via a small micro-fine incision in the lower breast fold. Subsequently, the skin is sutured with self-dissolving threads.

There are two different implant shapes, round and teardrop-shaped. The teardrop-shaped implant is very similar to the natural breast shape. However, the final result depends heavily on the anatomy of the body. The size and shape of the implant are individually adapted to the patient's body shape and wishes.

After the procedure, work should not be done for at least a week. Working people who put a lot of strain on their arms should refrain from carrying out their activities for three to four weeks. Sport can be done again after about four weeks. After the procedure, a sports bra should be worn for about six weeks. The final result of breast augmentation occurs six to nine months after surgery. After this period, the swelling has completely receded and the implant has passed into the final position.

For breast correction with autologous fat, existing fat deposits in the body are aspirated. The autologous fat is then processed and injected at several points around the breast. One or two sessions are usually necessary. The method of breast augmentation with autologous fat is particularly suitable for patients who want a small to moderate enlargement and do not want are particularly at risk for breast cancer. Which treatment option is ideal for you and your body will be discussed in a detailed personal consultation. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and takes about one to two hours. Afterwards, a sports bra is worn for about six weeks. Professional activity should be suspended for about a week.

Excess skin, mammary gland and fatty tissue are removed. With the remaining tissue, the breast is reshaped. A fine scar is located around the areola and vertically downwards, sometimes additionally in the lower breast fold. For six weeks, a supportive sports bra should be worn. After the procedure, you should not work for about 2 weeks. Working people who put a lot of strain on their arms should refrain from carrying out their activities for three to four weeks. Sport can be resumed after about four weeks.

A reconstruction of the breast with breast implants can be performed directly, under the same anaesthesia after removal of the mammary gland. The implant is inserted either in front of or behind the pectoral muscle. However, sufficient skin and soft tissue mantle must still be present. The method is not suitable for patients with large, contracted scar plates. This is often the case after irradiation. In some cases, a preliminary operation for skin extraction is necessary to prepare for the implantation, for which an expander is inserted. This is continuously filled with a saline solution and thereby expands the skin coat. If the skin or soft tissue coat is large enough, the actual implant can be inserted. One Breast reconstruction with breast implant offers above all the advantage that the procedure is rather small. The disadvantage is the use of foreign material and the associated risk of hardening of the breast, especially after radiation (capsular contracture).

With the help of autologous tissue flaps of the back or abdomen, the breast can be rebuilt. If the flap is removed from the back, the back muscle (latissimus dorsi) is partially or completely lifted off with skin on one side. There is only a scar on the back. The loss of muscle is usually well compensated by other muscles. The so-called DIEP cloth is a further development of the TRAM flap. Here, the abdominal muscles are completely preserved. This reduces the risk of abdominal wall hernias.

The nipple and areola are built up as the last breast element. The procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia or, if necessary, with corrective surgery after breast volume has been restored.
